The Insurance Company does not pay claims benefits "in advance".

No. Your Pre-emptive Loss Mitigation coverage is available should you even anticipate the inability to make a payment. You’re encouraged whenever possible to contact us before you’ve missed your first payment.
Are Any Jobs Excluded?
You must be a W-2 employee and CANNOT be self-employed, an independent contractor, a business owner, a temporary or seasonal worker, an educational employee on a scheduled break, or work for your immediate family.
There are other excluded unemployment situations such as voluntarily choosing to become unemployed, willful misconduct, criminal misconduct, death, disability, family leave, childbirth, pregnancy; war, and discharge of pollutants. You will need to read your insurance contract for the specific definitions of these exclusions.
What Are the Waiting Periods?
Before involuntary unemployment insurance can be utilized, there is an initial Vesting Period of 60 days. If you become unemployed anytime before the initial vesting period is over, you will not be eligible to file a claim, and you will have to return to work for at least 60 days before eligibility begins. The Unemployment claims procedure requires documentation from your employer and your state's unemployment office which will verify the date of your unemployment.
30 day Elimination Period. Once the vesting period requirement has been met, there is also a 30-day "Elimination Period" before benefit is paid. The first 30 days of unemployment are not covered. The elimination period makes the insurance more affordable and eliminates the high expense involved in processing insignificant short term employment interruptions.
What is the primary benefit of the Life Event Shield?
Loss mitigation is the primary benefit of the Life Event Shield. In simplest terms, this benefit gives the home buyer-borrower and/or lender access to our company's most powerful default prevention resource, the lost mitigation intervention.
Why is Loss Mitigation the Primary Benefit?
Because, at the core of all four reasons, the default and foreclosure (and even loan delinquency), is either temporary or long term insolvency. Only loss mitigation interventions, as defined below, can prevent default on a stand-alone bases.
What is the range of loss mitigation interventions?
Interventions can range from evaluation and advice to a beneficiary who is at risk of delinquency, to full-fledged workout solutions, negotiated on behalf of the borrower by one of our certified specialists, usually with the mortgage servicer, in the case of actual delinquency or default. Either the borrower or the lender, can initiate the intervention.
What are examples of workout solutions?
Workout solutions can take many forms. If a client desires and is capable of property retention, the establishment of a repayment or forbearance plan or possibly a loan modification is pursued. If disposition is the only recourse we will negotiate a short sale or deed-in-lieu of foreclosure.
We can avoid foreclosure for any client willing to stay engaged in the workout process.
How is the benefit activated?
The intervention benefit is activated once either the homebuyer/borrower or lender contacts our customer service department via email: (info@lifeeventsshield.com) or phone: (877-221-2126) notifying us of a missed payment or the anticipation of a missed payment.
How long is the Loss Mitigation portion of the Life Events Shield in effect?
The loss mitigation benefit is in effect for 12 months from the date of loan closing .
